National Writers Union - Twin Cities Chapter We are book authors and writers, freelance and in-house, as varied in experience as we are with our genres. The Twin Cities boasts of many writing groups – but ours is unique. We are a union. In 1981, the National Writers Union was formed, despite the popular opinion that “you cannot organize freelance writers,” and the result is a union of chapters nationwide, representing its members with contract advice, legal assistance and a network of fellow writers like no other. The Twin Cities Chapter began in 1987 and is one of the strongest in the country. ATTENTION NWU MEMBERS: If you have not already completed the one-page Authors Survey, please take a minute (really, that's about all it requires) to fill it out now. Here's the link. The union depends upon those survey results to get funding. The National office needs to receive completed forms containing a signature by February 19. They can be mailed to NWU, 256 West 38th Street, Suite 703, New York, NY 10018; they can be faxed to 212-254-0673; or they can be scanned and then emailed to annfromdc@aol.com. Thanks for your help.
